Idyllic weekend off in the Dolomites

There are not a lot of weekends when Peter and I are without children. Last weekend was one of them. Three free days – luxury. 🙂

Where shall we go? It was totally clear that we won´t go towards Croatia´s sea. We decided about the location unanimously in 10 seconds – the Dolomites.

For me, the Dolomites are the most beautiful place under the Sun. We used to go there at least once a year, but for the past years, we go there once every two years, because we want to see other parts of the world as well.

We accommodated in camp Rochetta in Cortina d´Ampezzo, where the price was 25 eur per night.

We didn´t mountaineer a lot, we were just enjoying in long walks and wonderful views.

The first day we went to Tre Cime, to get some coffee by the Lago Misurina and in the afternoon, we enjoyed in the camp and in walk above Cortina.

The second day we went on a little longer road trip around Sella. Passo Gardena, Passo Sella and Passo Pordoi – just too beautiful. In Canazei we stopped for coffee, because in Italy coffee is always delicious. Yes, a million turns and some walks in between.

The third day we went on Chinque Torri with the most beautiful view on Tofana. After walk by them, we went to Cortina to grab some real Italian pizza and then drove back home.

No, not everything was as garishly beautiful as on photos. It was sunny indeed, but there was also heavy wind on passes. At nights, it was really colddddd, around 6 degrees. Even in summer, you must have warm clothes, anorak and hat in the Dolomites.

At the end, we were at home warming up with some tea and healing our colds on the couch. However, I have kept only beautiful memories and impressions from the most beautiful views on the world.
